What I'm reading this week:
Mum's the Word by Dorothy Cannell
I love the Ellie Haskell books, and am slowly re-reading the series - this is the third book.

What I'm listening to this week:
The Rhyme of the Magpie (Birds of a Feather Mystery, #1)
Rhyme of the Magpie is another re-read for me, but this time via Audible.  The narration is quite good, and I'm enjoying my return visit to Smeaton-under-Lyme.

What I'm watching this week:
Image result for ordeal by innocence
I haven't started this yet, but it's next in the queue and I'm thrilled that there's been a resurgence of interest in producing Agatha Christie films, but wonder how many times things can be re-done.....

What's happening in the kitchen this week:
                                                 I'm trying a new bread recipe -
I've added flax seed and oatmeal.

Cooking down beautiful fresh tomatoes to freeze for the winter.

It's back to work this week - and I'm bringing muffins for the staff's first day.
(l -blueberry, r- cranberry)

What's Charlie the beagle up to???
My little buckaroo had to have 5 teeth extracted this week.  He was a real trooper, and did enjoy his puppy ice-cream the next day!

What I'm reading this week:
I just started Midsummer Mayhem by Marty Wingate, but I'm still also reading one Hercule Poirot story a week this month for my book club, and haven't finished Murder at Mullings yet (it's a paperback and I tend to take longer to finish those than books on my Kindle, lol!).

What I'm listening to this week:
The series has a new narrator (the woman who did such a wonderful job with all of the other Lady Georgie books sadly passed away last year), but I listened to a snippet and she seems to do a nice job.

What I'm watching this week:
Tom Courtenay, Matthew Goode, Michiel Huisman, Penelope Wilton, Glen Powell, Katherine Parkinson, Jessica Brown Findlay, and Lily James in The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018)
It was fabulous and I absolutely loved it!

What's happening in the kitchen:

I made a second, smaller batch of peach jam this week - it tastes like summer!

What's Charlie the beagle up to?
Charlie's friend, Gerald, came for a sleepover this weekend.  They alternated chasing each other around the yard and sleeping!

Welcome to my blog!

I'm not sure who'll even read this, or if I'm just writing it as a personal journal of sorts, but I wanted to create a place where I can talk about what I'm reading, cooking, eating, thinking about, etc...

To start off, here's a picture of my favorite little canine - Charlie the beagle - reading his favorite classic mystery!

Thanks for stopping by!
